Jade Lotus Literary Agency (JLLA) welcomes submissions from authors around the world. To protect both our authors and our agency, every author submitting a manuscript for evaluation is asked to certify the following:
- The author is the sole owner of the manuscript or possesses all rights necessary to submit it to JLLA.
- To the best of the author’s knowledge, submission of the manuscript to JLLA does not violate any contractual obligation, court order, governmental restriction, or other legal obligation applicable to the author.
- To the best of the author’s knowledge, the author has obtained any permissions, consents, or approvals that may be required under the laws of the author’s country before submitting the manuscript, if any such permissions, consents, or approvals are in fact required.
- The manuscript does not knowingly infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other legal rights of any third party.
- The author agrees to notify JLLA promptly if any legal, governmental, contractual, or rights-related issue arises that could affect the manuscript or the author’s ability to grant publishing rights.
- The author acknowledges that JLLA is a United States literary agency and publisher and is not qualified to provide legal advice regarding the laws of any country, and that responsibility for complying with applicable local laws remains solely with the author.
- JLLA reserves the right to decline or discontinue consideration of any submission presenting unacceptable legal, contractual, or reputational risk.
By submitting a manuscript to JLLA, the author certifies that the foregoing statements are true to the best of the author’s knowledge.
This policy is intended to protect both authors and JLLA while ensuring that manuscripts can be evaluated fairly, responsibly, and consistently.
