Publishing Support Process
Below is the process by which we would make decisions regarding our exclusive agent agreement and work:
1. We ask for the author’s bio.
2. Plus a statement about anything that the author would like to share about life and experiences, especially, those that contributed or provided the motivation for the novel/book to be considered.
We use, at least, the above to evaluate whether Jade Lotus Literary Agency may be able to join the author as exclusive agent for the English version of the work. If and when, hopefully, this seems feasible: At this point, we would sign an exclusive Agent Agreement with the author.
3. We work with the Author (free pf charge) to develop a packet containing the table of contents and one or two chapters of the work in English (Please note: Although we would be willing and able to participate in this process free of charge understanding that our translation help would not be considered “professional.”)
We would then start on a quest to locate appropriate and interested publishers who meet our standards for novels and books written in the genre of the Author’s work. If more that one publisher is interested in publishing the work, we would work with the Author and choose the most promising and appropriate publisher.
4. Help the Author and the publisher with locating and engaging professional translators and editors, as well as providing promotional support to author and the publisher.
